Inspiring Readers and Leaders

The quality of education during childhood has a marked bearing on youth and adult literacy. Young people who have never been to school, or who have spent just a few years in school, almost inevitably join the ranks of illiterate adults. But even completing primary school is not a guarantee of becoming literate. (EFA, 208)

Labang Education Foundation works with communities to create bibraries or library-style centers, which provide an environment where learning and playing are integrated. The libraries or centres  serve children from multiple schools within each community. Students and teachers from schools in the community can obtain learning and instructional resources like books, audios, videos, charts etc through the Centers.

The Centers also organize after school, weekend and holiday activities and events which improve quality of learning among children through educational videos that enhance literacy, vocabulary, and grammar while improving their knowledge of science, social science, geography etc.
