Who We Are
- Labang Education Foundation (LEF) is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation that was created out of the need to enhance and provide education support services in rural communities in Cameroon, Africa. We envision communities where education is about developing the skills for success at all levels rather than just completing the education cycle.
- The Foundation was created in 2012 and initially named the Kencholia International Foundation with incorporation number N000702436 . To better articulate the work of the foundation and for purposes of meeting IRS requirements for 501(c)(3) status, the mission and vision was streamed lined and it was renamed the Labang Education Foundation and incorporated in the State of Missouri and the State of Texas.
Our Mission
- The mission of the LEF is to inspire transformative change by providing quality education programs, resources, and training opportunities to enable the underprivileged acquire and develop the skills and knowledge essential for success and life-long learning.
Our Goals
Labang Education Foundation develops education programs, promotes education advocacy, and provides resources that improve the quality of learning, and teaching to prepare students for success in school and the real world.
- At the Primary, secondary and high school (K-12) levels, LEF improves quality by developing schools, providing learning and teaching resources and creating after school and holiday programs.
- At the tertiary, LEF provides education, training and inspire social entrepreneurship.
- At both levels, the Foundation offers need-base and excellence scholarships to inspire the drive for success.
- At the community level, LEF works with communities to setup libraries and library-style centers for learning and entertainment.
